Is that an attitude you've encountered before? I'm curious, if this is offensive to some victims of the more personal types of abuse. It's something I was afraid of at one point, I know that. Introducing my lovely bride to this material wasn't something I particularly relished as I was afraid it could be triggering for her or insulting in some way. Anyway, that's not how it came off, which is good because I'd rather not keep an idea to myself. Since then I haven't thought about it a lot. Obviously, there's nothing we talk about here that should be denigrating to any kind of abuse victim. And suggesting that these things happen on an organized level shouldn't detract from the one on one abuses that go on in far too many homes.
Oh definitely. However a few people Ive met who clearly went through a lot of trauma at the hand of a "loved one" dont seem surprised at all about the deep parapolitic links to ritual abuse.
All I know, is that having family members working in the capacity of mental health and sitting in on groups, Ive heard first hand quite a bit of
women(and some men's) experiencew with some of the most shocking
and shattering sexual and physical/emotional abuse.
So when I hear Cathy Obrien, Ive no doubt someone or someones did a very extensive amount of horrible things to her.
So while I myself never heard first hand of any of this sort of abuse that was tied to anything more than an abusive family member or a few individuals...again, from all we know now the idea of people in very high positions of power or organized cults tied to deep politics involved in this stuff doesnt surprise me.
Yet, we hear time and time again how people say that talking about organized pedophile cults or "Satanic ritual abuse" hurts the cause and awareness of sex crimes. Oh, "thats just panic from the 80's".
So how to "seperate the wheat from the chaffe". The problem is, to the victim what they are recollecting in painful detail is real to them even if it didnt transpire as such.
The rabbit hole is so deep here, that as much as "heavy grain of salt" might be required with some of these speakers; I cant discount anything.
You read Jeff's book, its clear some of these horrible sexual abuses people have suffered sometimes isnt even at the hands of a human.
