This seems to make sense considering that it is doubtful the antenna systems were changed for the sole benefit of the public and that the desire of government use would outweigh the public good.

I have been following his theory and at this point, unless it becomes otherwise, he seems to be fairly accurate in his forecasts. His general theory is that there will be rough weather following these patterns due to heating of the ionosphere.

Having studied HAARP lately it appears as if HAARP can heat the ionosphere enough to manipulate weather. There are official documents that indicate this is true.

HAARP has many capabilities and I suspect that affecting the weather is not always the intention of its use but is a byproduct of its use. It can be used for Tomography to analyze the contents of minerals deep into the surface of the earth. Manipulating the weather of course has obvious benefits though. There may be some weather manipulation going on in my opinion in an effort to steer some of this Fukushima radiation away from certain locations.

From what I have read HAARP may be able to vibrate or possibly heat oil, natural gas, etc...below the surface of the earth to make it easier to extract from the earth for human use. If true I find it conceivable that this could cause earthquake activity and weather storms.

My take on this at the present time is that these storms are not being created for "disaster capitalism" uses because the storms are not destroying enough property to make is useful for such an activity, and that 'if' these storms are a by product of HAARP it 'may' have something to do with natural gas or oil deposits in the New Madrid fault zone.

Who knows, there may also be some playing into the 2012 end of times scenario.

And then of course I could be completely wrong.

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago, but it fits here, so...

Bruce Dazzling wrote:This is from the January 14, 1999 European Parliament Report on the environment, security and foreign policy.

HAARP - a weapons system which disrupts the climate

On 5 February 1998 Parliament's Subcommittee on Security and Disarmament held a hearing the subject of which included HAARP. NATO and the US had been invited to send representatives, but chose not to do so. The Committee regrets the failure of the USA to send a representative to answer questions, or to use the opportunity to comment on the material submitted.(21)

HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project) is run jointly by the US Air Force and Navy, in conjunction with the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Similar experiments are also being conducted in Norway, probably in the Antarctic, as well as in the former Soviet Union.(22) HAARP is a research project using a ground based apparatus, an array of antennae each powered by its own transmitter, to heat up portions of ionosphere with powerful radio beams.(23) The energy generated heats up parts of the ionosphere; this results in holes in the ionosphere and produces artificial 'lenses'.

HAARP can be used for many purposes. Enormous quantities of energy can be controlled by manipulating the electrical characteristics of the atmosphere. If used as a military weapon this can have a devastating impact on an enemy. HAARP can deliver millions of times more energy to a given area than any other conventional transmitter. The energy can also be aimed at a moving target which should constitute a potential anti-missile system.

The project would also allow better communications with submarines and manipulation of global weather patterns, but it is also possible to do the reverse, to disrupt communications. By manipulating the ionosphere one could block global communications while transmitting one's own. Another application is earth-penetrating, tomography, x-raying the earth several kilometres deep, to detect oil and gas fields, or underground military facilities. Over-the-horizon radar is another application, looking round the curvature of the earth for in-coming objects.

From the 1950s the USA conducted explosions of nuclear material in the Van Allen Belts(24) to investigate the effect of the electro-magnetic pulse generated by nuclear weapon explosions at these heights on radio communications and the operation of radar. This created new magnetic radiation belts which covered nearly the whole earth. The electrons travelled along magnetic lines of force and created an artificial Aurora Borealis above the North Pole. These military tests are liable to disrupt the Van Allen belt for a long period. The earth's magnetic field could be disrupted over large areas, which would obstruct radio communications. According to US scientists it could take hundreds of years for the Van Allen belt to return to normal. HAARP could result in changes in weather patterns. It could also influence whole ecosystems, especially in the sensitive Antarctic regions.

Another damaging consequence of HAARP is the occurrence of holes in the ionosphere caused by the powerful radio beams. The ionosphere protects us from incoming cosmic radiation. The hope is that the holes will fill again, but our experience of change in the ozone layer points in the other direction. This means substantial holes in the ionosphere that protects us.

With its far-reaching impact on the environment HAARP is a matter of global concern and we have to ask whether its advantages really outweigh the risks. The environmental impact and the ethical aspect must be closely examined before any further research and testing takes place. HAARP is a project of which the public is almost completely unaware, and this needs to be remedied.

HAARP has links with 50 years of intensive space research for military purposes, including the Star Wars project, to control the upper atmosphere and communications. This kind of research has to be regarded as a serious threat to the environment, with an incalculable impact on human life. Even now nobody knows what impact HAARP may have. We have to beat down the wall of secrecy around military research, and set up the right to openness and democratic scrutiny of military research projects, and parliamentary control.

A series of international treaties and conventions (the Convention on the prohibition of military or any other hostile use of environmental modification techniques, the Antarctic Treaty, the Treaty on principles governing the activities of states in the exploration and use of outer space including the moon and other celestial bodies, and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea) casts considerable doubt on HAARP on legal as well as humanitarian and political grounds. The Antarctic Treaty lays down that the Antarctic may be used exclusively for peaceful purposes.(25) This would mean that HAARP is a breach of international law. All the implications of the new weapons systems should be examined by independent international bodies. Further international agreements should be sought to protect the environment from unnecessary destruction in war.
"Arrogance is experiential and environmental in cause. Human experience can make and unmake arrogance. Ours is about to get unmade."

For a channel like RI I have always thought this haarp system is one of the most understated or unexplored weapons on earth and i'm not quite sure why. This has transcended WOO a long time ago and come into its own in a big way. I sort of think RI may steer away from HAARP because it used to be WOO but it is not WOO anymore. It is real, it is here, and in our face.

Last days tornado deaths in US now at 128. More severe storms expected.

Tornado record set: 292 in April and counting

It's been an April to remember (or perhaps forget) as far as severe weather is concerned. We've had six major severe weather events, some lasting multiple days.

Weather Channel Severe Weather Expert Dr. Greg Forbes(Find him on Facebook)now says April has set a tentative record, with 292 confirmed April tornadoes in the U.S., breaking the old mark of 267 tornadoes in 1974. Keep in mind, an average entire month of April sees "only" 163 tornadoes.

There have been over 5,400 severe weather reports (tornadoes, hail, and high winds/wind damage) so far in April. On average, only about 3,300 severe weather reports are tallied in an entire April nationwide.

What follows is a recap of each April severe weather event, with maps, notable tidbits, and links to articles, video, and/or photo collections. Let's start with a massive wind damage event:

April 4-5: Massive wind damage!
Notables:
* Roughly 1,500 total reports of tornadoes, high winds, and hail across 19 states.
* Number of high wind/damaging wind reports (1,318) smashed previous record for any 24-hour period of 1012 on Apr. 2, 2006. However, that April 2006 event had many more significant wind reports (gusts over 74 mph), fatalities, and injuries.

April 9: Mammoth Iowa supercells!
The following weekend kicked off with destructive tornadoes in Pulaski County, Va., the night of April 8, one of which was an EF2 on the Enhanced-Fujita scale.

More severe storms pummeled a swath from the Ohio Valley to the Carolinas on April 9 with large hail, high winds, and a few tornadoes.

However, it was supercell thunderstorms in the Hawkeye State that grabbed the attention that evening.

Notables:
* At least 10 tornadoes confirmed in Iowa.
* EF3 tornado levels town of Mapleton, Iowa. Pocahontas County damage path up to 2-3 miles wide!
* One supercell spawned tornadoes over a 4-hour period in west-central and northwest Iowa.

April 10: Wisconsin tornadoes
Where would you place the peak tornado threat in April? Ok, we'll give you a hint. Here is the peak April tornado threat, on average.

But that's just an average. On Sunday, April 10, supercell thunderstorms tracked across northern and central Wisconsin.

Notables:
* At least 14 tornadoes confirmed in Wisconsin, a record for any April day in the state.
* EF3 tornado inflicts heavy damage in Merrill, Wisc. This tornado was on the ground for 22 miles.
* In 22-county area served by NWS-Green Bay, 10 tornadoes were confirmed, a record outbreak for this area in any month!

April 14: Day 1 of 3-day siege
Severe weather returned to its peak April threat area, namely, the South during the second full week of April.

A three-day siege of severe thunderstorms began in the Southern Plains in the late afternoon and evening hours of April 14.

Notables:
* At least 27 tornadoes confirmed in 3 states. Oklahoma led the way with at least 22 tornadoes.
* EF3 tornado levels town of Tushka, Okla.
* At least 2 died in Oklahoma, 7 were killed in Arkansas, mainly from trees falling onto residences.

April 15: Dixie Alley nightmare
Unfortunately, the episode of severe weather the previous afternoon and evening was just a precursor to a deadly, destructive April 15.

There was no "morning lull" in this case, either. A supercell thunderstorm tracked across central Mississippi, inflicting damage in Clinton, Miss., and prompting a "tornado emergency" for the Jackson metro area.

That was far from the end of this story, however. Rounds of supercell thunderstorms spawned twisters through late Friday night primarily in Mississippi and Alabama. Tornadoes also touched down in parts of Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, and Louisiana.

Notables:
* At least 66 tornadoes confirmed. At least 40 tornadoes in Alabama alone!
* EF3 tornado in Clinton and the west side of Jackson, Miss. This was the first "3-rated" tornado in Hinds County since Mar. 4, 1989.
* At least 7 died in Alabama, and 1 death occurred in Mississippi.

April 16: Virginia/Carolinas crushed
More often than not, weather systems will tend to do spawn the lion's share of tornadoes in the Plains and Deep South/"Dixie Alley", with only a glancing blow in the East as it exits stage right.

Not this time ... not by a long shot!

A line of severe t-storms spawned a swarm of tornadoes centered in the eastern half of North Carolina, but also in northeast South Carolina, parts of Virginia, even as far north as Maryland.

Notables:
* At least 60 tornadoes confirmed in 7 states. N. Carolina lead the way with at least 32 tornadoes.
* Five N. Carolina tornadoes were rated EF3. An EF2 tornado in Raleigh was Wake County's first "2" or higher rated twister in over 13 years.
* At least 24 were killed in N. Carolina, at least 5 died in Virginia.

April 19-20: Midwest, South Wind-Whipped
Would the atmosphere take a breather after the three-day mid-April severe siege spawned over 150 tornadoes from the Plains to the East Coast?

Nope!

While over 50 confirmed tornadoes touched down from Oklahoma to Ohio, it was the numerous high wind/wind damage reports from Arkansas into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys that stole the show. In some ways, it was similar to the April 4 outbreak.

Notables:
* Over 1,000 reports of severe weather in 16 states from the Plains to the Southeast.
* 51 confirmed tornadoes, including an EF3 near Girard, Ill., an EF2 near Litchfield, Ill., and an EF1 near Bowling Green, Mo.
* This would have been the day with the highest total of severe reports since Apr. 2, 2006 ... if it wasn't for April 4's outbreak.

April 22: "Good Friday" St. Louis tornado
Sometimes a given severe weather event is not so much an outbreak as it is known for where it occurred. Such was the case on Good Friday.

Rush hour traffic

While severe t-storms stretched from Texas to the Ohio Valley, one rain-wrapped supercell spawned a tornado, carving a swath over the north and west St. Louis metro Friday evening.

Notables:
* First U.S. tornado rated EF4 of this year in NW St. Louis suburb of Bridgeton. First "4-rated" tornado in metro since Jan. 24, 1967.
* EF2 damage at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Many windows in main terminal blown out, large section of roof peeled off.
* There were no fatalities along the tornado's 22-mile path across St. Louis County, Mo. and Madison County, Ill.

April 25: Arkansas Ambush
Reports of tornadoes stretched from Texas to Indiana on "Easter Monday".

While one supercell south an southwest of Ft. Worth, Texas, produced several tornadoes as it tracked east, and the Memphis metro had another close call, the most destructive tornadoes targeted central Arkansas.

Notables:
* 38 preliminary reports of tornadoes in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana.
* Up to 1/2 mile-wide damage swath in Vilonia, Ark., with at least 4 dead.
* Little Rock Air Force Base: Homes with roof damage, buildings damaged & cars flipped.
* Hot Springs Village, Ark.: Many homes damaged, numerous trees downed.

Double waterspouts form off Hawaii shore

By Liz Goodwin liz Goodwin – Tue May 3, 4:24 pm ET

Two tall and skinny waterspouts appeared off the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii yesterday, as some of the bad weather that has lately assailed the U.S. mainland has now alighted on the Pacific island.

The Star Advertiser reports that the waterspouts appeared during a hail and lightning storm that had reportedly knocked out power for at least 60,000 East Honolulu and Windward Oahu residents Monday evening. The spouts lasted for about 12 minutes. Waterspouts can become twisters if they reach land, but are usually weak.

Giant ocean whirlpools puzzle scientists

Giant ocean whirlpools puzzle scientists.
US scientists discovered two giant whirlpools in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Guyana and Suriname. It became a sensational discovery because this part of the ocean has been studied thoroughly, and no one expected anything like that to appear in the area. More importantly, no one can understand where the whirlpools came from and what surprises they may bring to people.

According to Brazilian scientist Guilherme Castellane, the two funnels are approximately 400 kilometers in diameter. Until now, these were not known on Earth. The funnels reportedly exert a strong influence on climate changes that have been registered during the recent years.

"Funnels rotate clockwise. They are moving in the ocean like giant frisbees, two discs thrown into the air. Rotation occurs at a rate of one meter per second, the speed is sufficiently large compared to the speed of oceanic currents, on the border hoppers is a wave-step height of 40 cm," Castellane said.

Even during the dry months, when the movement of oceanic currents and the flow of the Amazon River practically comes to a standstill, the funnels do not disappear. Therefore, the nature of the funnels does not depend on the flow of water, which one of the world's biggest rivers brings into the ocean. The natural phenomenon, which creates the whirlpools, is unknown to modern science.

As a matter of fact, the phenomenon of giant whirlpools in the World Ocean is not new to science. In most cases, the craters, or rings, as scientists call them, are formed as a result of so-called vertical currents. The latter, in their turn, appear because of differences in water density which appear because of difference in temperatures of water layers. It is an open secret that cold water is thicker and heavier, so it goes down, underneath the masses of warm water, which is lighter. This is the reason why warm currents in the World Ocean always flow closer to the surface, whereas colder currents flow closer to the bottom.

However, such movement of water may not always depend on the difference of temperatures of the water column. The difference in salinity can also be a reason. The mechanism here is the same. The density of saltier water is higher, this water is heavier and it moves closer to the bottom, pushing less saltier water up. This type of vertical fusion occurs frequently in the tropics because high temperatures lead to the evaporation of water from the surface. The salt does not evaporate with water, though. It stays in the ocean, which raises the level of salinity on the upper layer of water. This layer "drowns" and gives way to less saltier waters of the depth.

Such vertical movements of water create giant whirlpools. The whirlpools, tens and even hundreds of kilometers in diameter, may last for months and even years, scientists say. The vertical movement of waters is a slow process, though. Why do those whirlpools exist for such a long time? This is partially the effect of Earth's magnetic field. In addition, marine water contains many charged ions, Na and Cl for example. To crown it all, water molecules are dipoles that are charged both positively and negatively.

Any dipole starts spinning when moving in the magnetic field. An oceanic ring gathers millions of billions of molecules together. That is why the giant circle movement triggered by the vertical movement of water may last for months and years mechanically. Ions also give more power to the craters. Natrium and Chlorum are charged as well, and their movement in the magnetic field of the Earth also leads to the appearance of the circle movement.

It is not ruled out that the reason for the appearance of the whirlpools off the coast of South America is the same as in other parts of the World Ocean. Scientists are currently studying the influence of those giant funnels on the climate of Latin America and Africa. Such whirlpools show influence on the atmosphere and form cyclonical air mass. They can also affect the movement of air mass formed in other places. For the time being, scientists do not know how the newly discovered water craters can affect the climate of Central and South Americas.

NPR interview of NOAA meteorologist
[initial remarks re devestation of Joplin]
..
MELISSA BLOCK: Those tornadoes yesterday struck a huge swath of the southern United States. Greg Carbin is a meteorologist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center. That's in Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Carbin, as you were watching these storms develop yesterday, saw the huge numbers of tornadoes striking, what was going through your mind as a meteorologist?

Mr. GREG CARBIN (Meteorologist, NOAA Storm Protection Center): Well, it was rather disturbing, first of all, to see the intensity of these storms moving across populated areas of the South. And then it's sad to see the results today and our sympathy goes out to those who are suffering through this and it will be many days for recovery. It was one event that I have not experienced before in 25 years of forecasting and it was quite stunning.

BLOCK: Never seen this before in 25 years?

Mr. CARBIN: Not to the extent we experienced yesterday. And I would say that most of the forecasters I worked with yesterday were just sort of glued to the radar and astonished at what we were seeing.

BLOCK: Was it the number of storms or the strength of them, the course that they were taking?

Mr. CARBIN: All of those, really. We knew well in advance. I mean, we had been watching this system for may days and advertising that in our outlooks and our watches. In fact, the watches issued yesterday were out two, three hours prior to the most devastating storms. But when you have not gone through something like this in your career, it is really pretty remarkable.

BLOCK: This, of course, follows a whole series of really violent storms this month. Is April setting a record?

Mr. CARBIN: It appears as if April 2011 will go down in the record books with the most tornadoes observed. We're carrying about 600 for the month, which is an unheard of figure when you go back through the past.

BLOCK: What would it have been, say, last year?

Mr. CARBIN: Well, a normal April over the last 10 years experiences roughly 160 to 180 tornado events for the entire month. And so, to see 500, 600 tornadoes in the month of April is really unprecedented. ...

How does HAARP do this? EVidence of its action would help (radar rings don't count imo.)

I'd also suggest searching the archives.

Have a look at the gif in that link and think about what it represents and how that could happen.

Right now there are people dying and losing their homes.

I kind of don't want to speculate on what is probably just the new normal as the planet gets more fucked up.

But here is something I'm wondering.

If you were in charge of the US and had weather modification capability what would you do right now? What possible use ould you put it too?

Scientists are currently studying the influence of those giant funnels on the climate of Latin America and Africa. Such whirlpools show influence on the atmosphere and form cyclonical air mass. They can also affect the movement of air mass formed in other places. For the time being, scientists do not know how the newly discovered water craters can affect the climate of Central and South Americas.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the new Pravda basically tabloid stuff, a la "Bat Boy" kind of stories? If you google "Guilherme Castellane", you just get a giant echo chamber right back to this story. So what about these "US scientists?" Who are they, where are they? This story doesn't seem to exist outside of itself, cut and pasted onto a bunch of other sites.
