I will admit that my headline for the OP was hyperbole. Clearly there are far worse conspiracy theories, plenty of them. However, as far as CT's originated by the government as propaganda, embraced by the corporate media and spread thoroughly into the population, many of whom actually believe it, this might take the cake.

Although I suppose the "Official Stories" of both 9/11 and the JFK murder certainly qualify and are humdingers.

At any rate I see this thing gaining traction here because "it's possible". Sure but without a shred of evidence it's pure speculation.

Admit, however, that Trump immediately stepped into it like the total hate-moron he is. No one mind-controlled him into inviting Russian hackers to attack the Clinton e-mails by Twitter [correction: because I just saw the footage] speaking at a press conference! It's a reassuring natural display of a stupidity that can sink him.

Yes, and a current insanely dangerous context of building toward confrontation with Russia with the Clinton-neocon team in the lead. Think that "Stop Trump/Putin!" has now become the only foreign-policy angle of any kind mentioned prominently at the DNC megachurch revival thing.

One must admit the DNC show is soooo much more tolerable on a human level, and it's painful to see the naivete of the adepts. And it's so much more professionally organized than the RNC hatefest. But come on: Wells Fargo vs. Quicken Loans, what did you expect?

Imagine if Clinton and neocons "confront Russia" so ineptly that they just end up losing a ton of countries to the other "side"? Endless "Turkish coup attempts" while domestic agencies like the Pentagon sabotage their war plans.

Whether Clinton or Trump gets elected, I hope defectors inside the deep state and establishment keep the leaks, resignations, etc. coming.

It should be ENCOURAGING that the powers that be appear more divided than they did in the era after 9/11 - hopefully these seeming divisions aren't just a spectacle suckering us in.

Ok I see what you mean but that can only be speculation. The fact in her case is that she rode her husband's coat tails to the point where she could launch her own career.

I believe the implication is that Hillary, after all, is the one who has been generating free campaign messaging for Trump for a year straight now. So maybe she's the one playing dumb for the team.

I'm wondering who the real plant is, too. More likely, this is just a story about hubris. (On both sides.)

Well at this point she's spent as much time in office as Bill. She's certainly possessed of much more experience than her husband had when he was nominated. To believe she's evil is one thing, but to believe she hasn't worked her way into her current position is false on the face. Like most women seeking advancement she's worked probably twice as hard as any of the men in equivalent positions. Of course, people like the Donald are the perfect examples, his nomination being literally a result of white male privilege. Both His and his followers.

No shit. My feel is it overestimates the man from Arkansas to think you'd even have heard of him without her. That's about the limit of my praise, but she looks like she's always been the brains of the operation. Like that joke about them paying a visit to Hope and stopping at a gas station.

You can listen to Bill talk for ten minutes and it becomes obvious who has the "ideas".

Frankly I don't agree with her on almost anything but I also don't think she's evil. I think she's a true believer in moderate progressive ideology and has a real plan to try to make the world better as far as she believes and is willing to make often ghastly compromises to do so.

In that sense, she's infinitely better than Don, who clearly believes in nothing aside from how much he likes hearing his name spoken.
