I wouldn't call it definitive, but this gentleman seemed to think the shooter was located high above the crowd:

Thank you for politely correcting my faulty memory, smiles. I seem to have confused video poker (as played online, which was my understanding at first) with a physical card game, with playing the game on "slot" machines that would be better described as "video poker machines."

A close friend's son, maybe 22 at most, became a bit of a celebrity and became sponsored to play in games broadcast on cable from one of the casinos. It lasted about a year and a half and he returned home and soon thereafter most unexpectedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his head. Makes one wonder.

I know someone earlier mentioned the odds and how incredible it would be for him to win more than he lost. I was under the impression the odds against winning were much, far above 75%, like around 85% and greater, so I was never under the impression his winnings were derived from playing video poker (slot) machines. Makes money laundering a credible claim to me. Being rich, though, he might have felt he would never burn through his entire wealth, just a healthy bit of it.

Where's the hooker? Or is that just a cover for his trigger? Nuts? Paddock a lone nut? Or just a guy who sought fame in a most horrendous way? With no one to answer to?

Anyway, I have no idea what the truth of the matter is regarding Paddock. I've already proposed the possibility of him being dead before any automatic gunfire was heard. I discount the reports of secondary shooter(s), though. Hearing the crowd behind, all panicked, running for their lives, the noise of gunshots, their echoes and those of ricocheting bullets I believe has confused those reporting more than one shooter.

Btw, thanks for your profoundly important commentary, Mac - really enriches the thread.

You're welcome. And of course you just completely ignored every point I made, because that's precisely your style (and substance): Make untenable assertions, then "deal with" responses, including actual refutations, by just pretending they haven't taken place. You are a credit to science and all reasoned discourse, sir.

Happy to help, though. And if you need assistance with any other problem, such as distinguishing your arse from your elbow, please don't hesitate to ask.

Also is there something weird about the room Paddock allegedly shot from?

Photos show two windows that are broken with unbroken windows in between.

Are they separate windows?

Could there have been two shooters?

The last photo from the LA Times is gone and the one above it from the BBC is incorrect and does not accurately describe the suite. The window broken closer to the elevator was in an adjoining room; each, the room and the suite having one broken window.

The Daily Mail, quoting an unnamed "TV insider":

EXCLUSIVE: Mandalay Bay owner insisted security guard Jesus Campos appear ONLY on Ellen and not be grilled by TV hardhitters fearing his answers to timeline questions could result in massive lawsuits from victims of the massacre

- Jesus Campos, the Mandalay Bay hotel security guard who first alerted police to the Vegas gunman, appeared on Ellen for his first and only interview Wednesday

- MGM, which owns Mandalay Bay, thought Campos might not keep his story straight under the pressure of the TV lights and hard questioning

- Campos booked interviews with all the major networks last week before cancelling at the last minute and disappearing

- Union boss David Hickey who was helping set up the deal, told DailyMail.com ‘It certainly wasn’t my choice that he should appear on that circus'

- Ellen did not press him on the official timeline of the shooting, which has changed three times since the massacre

- MGM has disputed the official timeline, which insinuated they may have waited six minutes to call cops

- Police later changed the timeline again, saying that Campos immediately called in the shooting as soon as he was injured

Mandalay Bay shooting hero Jesus Campos was pressured into giving his only interview to Ellen DeGeneres because the giant company that owns the Las Vegas casino feared he would spill the beans about the shooting timeline if he was grilled by real journalists, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

MGM is worried that families of the 58 people murdered as well as many of the 546 injured in the Mandalay Bay massacre will launch lawsuits potentially worth billions of dollars against the company, sources tell DailyMail.com.

And they thought Campos might not keep his story straight under the pressure of the TV lights and tough questioning.

That is why Campos, 25, appeared on a daytime chat show hosted by a fast-talking, dancing comedienne, rather than take questions from TV hardhitters such as Fox News’ Sean Hannity, NBC News or ABC News.

‘MGM was behind the decision to call off all the interviews and did a deal with Ellen, knowing she would not play hardball on the timeline as long as she had the exclusive,’ a TV insider told DailyMail.com.

What was reported was that he was a high-stakes gambler playing card games with $25K and more for buy-ins and was very successful winning very large amounts in single games.

Also reported was Paddock's many hours, (14 was mentioned), spent continually playing slots, with no mention of any great pay-outs of wins.

That celebrity comedian Ellen has some interest in LV slot machines and in some way is part and parcel to some supposed conspiracy to commit the largest fatality count of any mass shooting before is perverse.

I'm not sure she "owns" the machines or whether she was paid a licensing fee by their manufacturer to have the games feature her image.

He played VIDEO poker, not actual poker. He supposedly made millions playing VIDEO poker for hours on end, which is only possible if he figured out an exploit that would have gotten him banned from the casinos he frequented long ago.

Marc Maron once had Obama on his WTF podcast.
Does this mean Marc Maron is a totally average, run of the mill Podcast host?

Is that how it works? I am not sure how this particular game is played.

Ellen, of course, followed this up with a hard hitting giggle.

I just watched that a minute ago.
I thought he reported the shooting, realized after that he was hit, then didn't report that to "keep the lines clear".

Heroically inventive nonsense.

Maybe, but is that what he said or not?

And Ellen, of course hers is a comedy entertainment show,
she doesn't pretend to be news or reporting,

Of course she does!
You yourself have just witnessed her doing
precisely that!

That was not news reporting and Ellen is not an Investigative reporter or Journalist, it was entertainment for the masses.
I wouldn't expect anything else but human interest puffery.

That's all it was,
and you are content
with that.

From the Ellen show? I wouldn't expect anything else!
Does that mean I am content with all the reports in this case? Absolutely not.

Though she did bring out the floor plan and her pointer!
Which actually clarified a couple things for me...

Of course you would say that.

Of course! First time I saw anyone discuss the floor plan,
and where Campos and Schuck were as the events unfolded.

That floor plan omitted the connecting door between rooms 32-134 and 32-135

Well that's interesting. Something to take a harder look at.
