"the nerve"?

i get it, its a pun ...

i have the nerve yes, i just don't think the Russians did, on this occasion, not that they wouldn't, just not this time

and again, if you think that you have some sort of right to tell me when or what i can say, you are mistaken

anyway, do you actually think Trump is a Russian agent, or being played by Russia for Russian interests?
the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

I don't care about anything else ...I don't care about Russia or Putin ...I care that we have a criminal for a president

and some of that money paid off a porn star and a whole lot more

and the issue i had is not that there isn't bias on both sides,

its just that when i read the thread and the title it seemed obvious that the title was misleading of 'the Affair' in its entirety,

and i think that is problematic, it sets a tone or a presumption for an issue that is contested

if it was a newspaper headline it would be rightly described as being biased or propaganda by way of drawing unproven conclusions clearly designed to manipulate perceptions

and if they were really were the only stories available to you at the time - cool

but why resist changing the title later to something that reflects the topic more fairly or neutrally?
the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

the title was posted at the time of the article was written and when I posted it.....

no one has ever suggested anyone change the title of any thread here after a story has evolved why should this thread get special handling when a couple of people are not happy with it...next time they should get to a story first then they can chose their title

OK, i am stating right now for the record, i think a more neutral thread title would be awesome for this thread.

I think posters shouldn't be afraid of thread title changes as stories evolve.

I think that if you are genuinely interested in the truth, you would welcome a more truthful headline on your story.

i think posting about being 'the first to post' and therefore claiming the 'right' to define a story is against the spirit of community, reporting, history, and the search for answers in a complex and warped world
the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

oh so now I am being accused of being against the spirit of the community ....when you have another thing to accuse me of post it

now it is not changing the thread title itself now we are on to personal attacks that I am against the community here (shame me into doing it now do you think that will work?)....no the couple people in this thread are against me having the right to name a thread I posted..why shouldn't they be the ones that are against the community spirit (shame them why don't you?)of having the right to name a thread they start without being bullied into it

I am a really bad person against community spirit now because I disagree with a couple people here who want to change the title of my thread

we have never had the "vote" your choice for renaming other peoples threads

14 years here and no one has ever told me I must change my thread title except Jack didn't like all capital letters

but let's see if we can get this up to 10 pages of bellyaching about a thread title.....how about another 10 pages on how to derail a thread?

one more time back 4 pages now my answer is the same now as it was then

let's change that title....apparently soon is not the correct title after all that was 7 years ago...not quite accurate according to you and yours so it must be changed!

let's change this title ...eve of?? that was 7 years ago ...not quite accurate

https://sputniknews.com/analysis/201805 ... ipal-case/

Interesting assessment on why the Tories are perusing this low evidence, clownishly constructed narrative

London says it still considers Moscow to be the perpetrator of the attempted poisoning of the Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury. This comes despite a statement by Czech President Milos Zeman that a similar nerve agent had been produced in his country. Radio Sputnik spoke with Joe Quinn, internet author and researcher about the issue.

Sputnik: Why in your view is the UK insisting on Russia’s responsibility for the attempted poisoning of the Skripals’, despite lack of evidence and the statement made by the Czech president recently?

Joe Quinn: That is a big question I suppose, but just a recap the Czech government, as you mentioned in your segment, has stated that it has produced similar agent to Novichok A-230, A-232, A-234; who knows exactly what it was. But the point about this is that there was never really any evidence to begin with, to blame Russia and the alleged poisoning of the Skripals.

Let’s assume they were poisoned; but there was never right from the beginning, that’s what people tend to forget because there’s so much propaganda and so much statements of alleged facts put out there by the British government, but there has never been any evidence to implicate Russia in this alleged poisoning of the Skripals.

From day one it was pretty much a complete fabrication and as I said likely some kind of nerve agent was used on the Skripals, but we have to kind of go back to square one in that respect and look at the bare facts and most importantly put those bare facts in the context of what everybody should know.

When there was an ongoing anti-Russian propaganda war being waged by Western and then some Middle Eastern countries for very obvious geopolitical reasons, so it’s effectively an ongoing smear campaign and they are just doubling down. But it’s embarrassing for the British government.

It’s a good question why would they do this, because, when you consider, a sensible person would not double down on something that most people would agree as a kind of lie or unfounded allegation. I mean they provided no evidence whatsoever and when asked, when challenged, they just make some vague claims which just sows more doubt in the public’s mind and most people’s minds and then when something like this comes out from the Czech government, they just double down on the same bogus spurious allegation. As I said, obviously there are reasons for that in terms of this smear campaign against Russia.

This kind of opportunity to look strong from the point of view of British government is kind of like the corrupt politicians, it is kind of like an event when you are attacked by a foreign government is kind like a cat nip for the Tory government in the UK, it’s like they can’t really resist this opportunity.

When you have a bunch of politicians in the Tory government that aren’t really entitled to be in power, a lot of people don’t want them in power. If there was a general election today, they would probably be kicked out of power.

This kind of event coming along where we are attacked by the evil Russians is like I said, it’s like very attractive for them to try and capitalize on it and to boost their own appearance of ”we are a strong government who need to protect the people, etc.,” so there are many different reasons why they are doing this. But the primary one like I just said is this ongoing, it goes back to Crimea and Ukraine, where Western governments have been attempting to demonize and blacken Russia’s name at every opportunity.

In fact you can go back to 2006 to Alexander Litvinenko, another spurious allegation against Russia of having poisoned someone.

So it’s a long process that has been going on for a long time and people need to remember that, but obviously news cycle goes around every 24 hours and people tend to forget. But people really need to put this into the context of this Western propaganda campaign against Russia for, like I said, geopolitical reasons.

Smiths, good to see you here (for the first time in eleven months!), but I perfectly understand why you, like so many other honest and rational long-term RI members, have more-or-less completely given up on this place. For the record, I agree wholeheartedly with every word you wrote there, most especially the last line.

And congratulations, smiths: You have now joined the very large club of people to be accused, by slad, of subjecting slad to a "personal attack". Translated into English, this means you ventured to disagree with her.

that "large" club you talk about consists of 4 people who have viciously attacked me for 2 years now and you are one of them

yea I think it is a personal attack to accuse me of being against the whole community here simply because I do not want my thread title changed

two other have chosen to form their own private club because they could not continue to personally attack me here ...I think you are well aware of them and you were very close to when they were here

a reasonable expectation that there maybe another side to this story

A reminder - nothing has been heard from the Skirpals since Julia's phone call with her cousin

http://theduran.com/breaking-yulia-skri ... rged-soon/

Transcript of the phone call between Yulia and Victoria Skripal:

Viktoria: Hello?

Yulia: Hello. Do you hear me?

Viktoria: Yes, I hear you.

Yulia: It is Yulia Skripal.

Viktoria: Oh, Yulka [diminutive of Yulia] it is you! I recognise from your voice that it is you but cannot understand. So, they gave you a telephone, didn’t they?

Yulia: Yes, yes.

Viktoria: Thank God! Yulyash [diminutive of Yulia], is everything okay with you?

Yulia: Everything is ok, everything is fine.

Viktoria: Look, if tomorrow I get a (British) visa, I will come to you on Monday.

Yulia: Vika, no one will give you the visa.

Viktoria: Well, I thought so too. Oh well.

Yulia: Most likely.

Viktoria: If they give it, I need you to tell me whether I can visit you or not, tell me that I can.

Yulia: I think no, there is such a situation now, we’ll sort it out later.

Viktoria: I know it, I know it all.

Yulia: Later, we will get it sorted later, everything’s fine, we’ll see later.

Viktoria: Is this your phone?

Yulia: It is a temporary phone. Everything is fine, but we’ll see how it goes, we’ll decide later. You know what the situation is here. Everything is fine, everything is solvable, everyone (he and her father) is recovering and is alive.

Viktoria: Ok! Is everything alright with your father?

Yulia: Everything is ok. He is resting now, having a nap. Everyone’s health is fine, there are no irreparable things. I will be discharged soon. Everything is ok.

Viktoria: Kisses, my bunny.

Yulia: Bye.

A month is passed and no further contact with the outside world. Just vague allusions to what might be happening.

ˆˆRight, nothing has been seen or heard from her since.

The UK media also went completely silent about the Skripal Affair, suddenly, as of one, weeks ago. An instant, unanimous, deafening silence. Very striking, and very mysterious. Had the ladies and gents of the Fourth Estate also been abducted, en masse? No, they'd merely been handed a D-Notice.

Two, in fact:

I have the feeling that if Julia, iparticular, was on-board with the UK Gov narrative she'd have been paraded across western news media, denouncing Putin/Russia/Communism/etc.

But not a peep - just to say that the UK Gov won't cooperate with her family visiting - then dead silence since.

Very shady

Indeed -- the seemingly coordinated messaging across MSM outlets is striking, though not nearly as surprising as it may have been some years ago.

They operate as a single organism at this point -- in concert with whatever 'guidance' is handed down by the Coalition of Imperial States.

You cant have it both ways my friend, especially when you take a stance.

smiths wrote:i think a more neutral thread title would be awesome for this thread.

The author of the article made the title, not slad.
It can never be unacceptable to title the op the same as the lead article in the op.

The only time a post title should be re-titled is within the first few days of posting.
I did not see any complaints at the time, so this becomes an attempt to revise this little history.

Completely unnecessary.

* okay my third or fourth read through has me thinking that you mean a poster should not mind if their title gets changed without their consent?
